It's Been a Great Journey
 
I've been President of the chapter since about 1998, which would take me to 24 years this year, continuing to work for the Olde Froth Chapter.  My collecting journey started in 1972 when my friend, Don, and I decided to drive around the United States.  Not having a lot of space in the car for many souvenirs, somewhere along the way, I decided to collect beer cans from all across the county.  Drink em and save em, was our motto!  The rest is history.  I've been involved ever since.  I spent 25 years of my professional career at CMU and,  simultaneously, in 1986, I bought a bar on the Northside of Pittsburgh and named it the Bierhaus, keeping with my German heritage.  I moved my collection in there and eventually added a 3 room Breweriana Museum upstairs.  In 2003, Deb and I, and Olde Frothingslosh hosted the BCCA Canvention right here in Pittsburgh.  It was a huge success.  Though I've retired from CMU as a Project Manager  and sold the bar, I still continue to have a love for this hobby, my chapter members and for collecting.
